I remember way back a few years ago I wrote a journal entry here about my grandfather suffering from an illness, wondering and praying that he would make it through. For all those who prayed and gave wishes, I very much appreciate your kindness. I also felt it necessary to tell you that last week my grandfather passed away. He was in pain and when I saw him earlier this spring it was a little hard to handle. I haven't felt much creativity since that time.
During the funeral they spoke of saints and how they didn't have to become saints by doing large acts of kindness, but small. An example of such kindness was holding doors for others, just as my grandpa had done for so many others. Later, while a song played, a lady behind me weeped loudly. I saw my sister grab kleenex from her bag and hand it to her. Small acts of kindness that our grandfather had showed us.
Thanks, Grandpa. I'll miss you.
